Christmas, christmas is my favourite holiday. Not because of the presents but because of the anticipation that leads up to it. It's an anticipation like no other, it never fades away. Stays all year round, lurking in the shadows. The months before Christmas you fantasize about playing around in the snow, freezing your toes off. Baking mounds of gingerbread cookies and lighting the first candle on advent sunday.
And then, after months of waiting, the day finally arrives. The day is just as wonderful and joyous as you imagined, you spend it with your relatives laughing and eating, hoping it never ends. And when it does, you are already dreaming about next christmas. How you will always be eternally grateful that this day exists. A day where all your worries disappear and all that is left is christmas, christmas, and more christmas. I have never been sad on Christmas, and I intend on never being it. Especially this one, I am more excited than anything. Spending Christmas in Portugal will hopefully be as fun and memorable as my Swedish Christmases. Although, I have heard some concerning inquiries about the heating.
But Christmas never disappoints, eh😉.
